What’s on this Fall?

  • Nature Explorers

    Join this a weekly nature walk where we’ll discover new parts of the landscape of Hoi An. During the walk, we’ll take time to observe and connect with our surroundings while we write in our nature journals.

  • Teen STEM Club

    In this group, teens will experiment and tackle deep questions as a group through a four-week collaborative project. This is an excellent way for the teens to build skills and relationships.

  • Sunset Beach Meet Up

    Grab a bow and see if you can launch the arrow towards the target. Pick up a ball and have a round of football. Grab the parachute for a game with the younger crowd. Every week we’re there!

  • Weekly Badminton

    Every week, there are two Badminton sessions - one for the older children from beginner to advanced - with skill building drills, match play and tournament opportunities. New this season, you’ll find a second little-kid session.

  • Theatre Co-op

    Kicking off in September, join a theatre group where the kids will lead the way in planning, creating and executing a production that will be performed for the parents after six weeks!

  • Weekly Workshops

    Every Wednesday, there is a brand new learning experience for Workshop Wednesday. It’s rotating workshops with local experts to learn everything from cooking to stained glass making.

  • Outdoor Movie Nights

    Grab the popcorn because outdoor movie nights are back for fall. Whether it’s an exclusive outdoor movie night for our group, or a popular one in town - it’s a great place to connect.

  • Field Trip Fridays

    Every second Friday we plan a group trip to adventure, experience or connect. Some are education focused, some are F U N focused and every one is designed o create connection for families.

Parent Lead Activities

Worldschooling Hoi An is parent-lead. That means parents within the community share their passions, skills and interests through activities. Every week, parents in the community create cooking classes, art play sessions, literacy activities and lead sessions to get kids moving.

The community membership includes access to the community, and to all activities that are available within, with access to free and paid activities.

FAQs

Why is there a membership fee for the community?

After nurturing and growing this parent-lead community for the past year, we’ve recently implemented a low-cost membership fee. This membership fee helps to cover the cost of supplies for community meet-ups, administrative fees for the website, and to help offset the extensive amount of administration time that goes into coordinating schedules, group trips and experiences - every single week.

Memberships are a one-time fee, and only one membership is required per family. This cost will always remain low, to reduce barriers to joining the community.

I am only here for a short time, do I still have to pay to join the community?

With the high amount of activities scheduled on a weekly basis, it’s our hope that parents and families recognize the value of the work behind the scenes to grow and develop the community here - even if you are only here to take part in these activities for a short period of time.

Simply put, whether you’re here for two weeks, two months, or two years, it’s a simple way to step into an already thriving community.

How many families are in Hoi An?

There are currently 50+ families actively participating in the Worldschooling, homeschooling, and local community in Hoi An.

When is the community active?

The community is active year-round, but will have a short break through mid November to mid January where there will be fewer core activities. Don’t let the rainy season stop you! It’s a beautiful time to visit Hoi An.

Can members organize a community activity?

Yes! This community is designed to be parent-lead, which means that parents are the aggravators of activities and experiences. As a parent-lead community, we welcome parents to share their passions, skills and talents with the community through workshops, shared experiences and more.
